#7 Middletown South at #1 Freehold Township

Opening day has come and it did not disappoint.  The reigning Shore Conference champions and preseason #1 Freehold Township hosted #7 Middletown South to open up the season and edged out an 1-0 victory over the Eagles.  The Patriots were able to break the tie at the 61st minute when junior Hailey Santiago broke down the sideline after Freehold Twp cleared a free kick and cut to the middle, beating two MS defenders and then blasted it past Eagles goalie Allie Greco. Preseason All Shore

Player of Year Candidates Madison DiEugenio - Senior TRN - Madison is looking to lead TRN to another deep run in the postseason. Last season she finished with 17 goals and 10 assists making her one of the best playmakers in the Shore Conference.  She can do it all on offense, making the right pass or getting free with fast footwork.   Ainsley Moy - Junior Freehold Twp - Ainsley looks to help keep Freehold as the #1 team in the Shore Conference as well as the top spot in the NJ.  Last season she finished second on the team with 18 goals and added 12 assists.  Moy is one of the top players in NJ and sometimes does not get the recognition due to the loaded midfield. I can see Moy making a statement this season and help move Freehold up the National Rankings. Abbey Olexa - Senior TRS - The West Virginia commit might be the most focused on players by opposing teams in the Shore.  She has the foot skills and power to beat a goalie anyway she wants.  She was my Freshman of the Year in 2019 fi
