Preseason All Shore
Player of Year Candidates
Madison DiEugenio - Senior TRN - Madison is looking to lead TRN to another deep run in the postseason. Last season she finished with 17 goals and 10 assists making her one of the best playmakers in the Shore Conference. She can do it all on offense, making the right pass or getting free with fast footwork.
Ainsley Moy - Junior Freehold Twp - Ainsley looks to help keep Freehold as the #1 team in the Shore Conference as well as the top spot in the NJ. Last season she finished second on the team with 18 goals and added 12 assists. Moy is one of the top players in NJ and sometimes does not get the recognition due to the loaded midfield. I can see Moy making a statement this season and help move Freehold up the National Rankings.
Abbey Olexa - Senior TRS - The West Virginia commit might be the most focused on players by opposing teams in the Shore. She has the foot skills and power to beat a goalie anyway she wants. She was my Freshman of the Year in 2019 finishing with 25 goals and 9 assists. Her sophomore year she helped lead TRS to a Regional title (covid year). Last year she had 8 goals before going down with an ACL injury.
Preseason All Shore Team
Goalie -
Morgan Highland - Senior Pt Beach - Morgan is a 4 year starter and was named to my All Freshman team as a freshman. Morgan will be closing in on over 400 saves for her career sitting at 391 and 20 career shutouts.
Defenders -
Abby Doherty - Senior Midd South - The recent La Salle commit looks to finish her HS career on a high note. Coming into the season healthy this year she will look to get MS off to a quick start. Abby has been a key part of the MS defense for the last 3 years but don't be surprised if you see her be more involved on the offensive end this season.
Marley Besser - Junior Lacey - Part of the solid Lacey defense, Marley leads the back line and will be a key piece for Lacey's Group 3 title hopes. Last season she finished with 4 goals and 3 assists from the back.
Lily Moraller - Senior RBR - Lily is the anchor on defense for the Bucs. She was a big reason on defense RBR had an upset win for Liberty in states and help Hopewell to only 1 goal. With the majority of the team returning Lily will look to lead RBR to a better record then the 9-9-2 they went last season.
Gabby Koluch - Senior Freehold Twp - Committed to Villanova, Gabby is a key part of the Freehold back line but also will see some time at midfield as she put in 6 goals and had 12 assists last season to help Freehold to the #1 rank in the Shore. She is an important piece to this Freehold squad.
Midfielders
Kayla Wong - Senior Freehold - The recent Princeton commit is one of the best playmakers in the state. Since she was a freshman she has amazed me with her foot work. Last year she finished with 15 goals and 15 assists to help give Freehold the #1 ranking in the Shore.
Kiersten Brown - Senior Wall - Kiertsen has been the focal point for Wall's offense the last two seasons. The team struggled at times to find the net when she battled injury last year. Look for her to go out on a high note and lead Wall to a deep run in CJG2.
Natalie McGovern -Sophomore Lacey - As a freshman she helped lead Lacey to SJG3 championship finishing with 14 goals and finishing as my Freshman of the Year. She will help lead Lacey to a Group 3 title and deep SCT run.
Gianna Romeo - Senior RBC - Gianna finished with 12 goals and 9 assists last season to help RBC reach the Non-Public A Finals. A 4 year varsity player, she will look to lead RBC to another Group title and deep SCT run. RBC will need her goals and assist total to increase to fill the void of Morgan Cupo.
Forwards
Alexis Garcia - Junior TRN - Her speed and footwork and ability to finish is the reason she had 20 goals last season and 12 goals as a freshman. Look for here to clear 50 career goals by the end of this season.
Sydney Spilsbury - Junior Manalapan - Sydney more than doubled her goal production as a freshman, finishing with 16 goals and 9 assists. Her and Vanessa Sarf have scored in almost every game and give teams nightmares as they are one of the best 1-2 combo in the state.
Vanessa Sarf - Junior Manalapan - Vanessa tripled her goal production from freshman year finishing with 19 goals last season. Look for both her and Sydney's production to increase as they lead Manalapan for another deep run and get revenge on Freehold, the team who gave Manalapan all 3 defeats.
Chelsea Lavezzo - Junior Jackson Liberty - Chelsea is recovered from her ACL injury from last season. Before she got injured she was on top of the Shore Conference in scoring with 11 goals in 7 games. My bold prediction is that she will lead the Shore in scoring this season.
