Final Top 10

 Final Top 10

(Previous Ranking)

1. Freehold Twp (1) 21-1-0 - Started #1 and finished #1 is not an easy task, but they did it. Only defeat was outside NJ. They finished the revenge tour with the #1 ranking in NJ after winning Group 4 by defeating Ridgewood.

2. Manalapan (6) 15-4-1 - They were 7 minutes away from pulling off the upset of the year in the CJG4 title game, but this team has nothing to be disappointed in.  First year coach John Rogers did a great job and is returning a lot of key players next season.

3. Middletown South (5) 14-5-1 - Middletown South played such good soccer this season, even the games they lost they gave opponents tough games. They gave Freehold Twp a tough game opening day and went on to win CJG3.

4. Brick Memorial (8) 11-4-2 - After last year's disappointing loss in CJG3 semis, they were determined to make it to the finals this year and accomplished that, first time in a long time. They defeated TRN for the first time in almost 10 years and won a share of the A South crown. Even when they lost, they were fun to watch.

5. Howell (2) 14-4-1 - Howell is one of two teams on this list who had an amazing turnaround from last season.  Coach Miguel Arroyo turned Howell into a championship contender after just winning 5 games last season.  The team made it to the SCT finals and took Freehold Twp to the limit. Howell brings back a good part of their team next season.

6. RBC (7) 13-5-0 - This was not your typical RBC year, they failed to make the SCT semis and lost in Non Public A South finals. Why they are ranked high, the only Shore Conference game they lost that mattered was to Point Boro in the SCT. They lost to Middletown South, but that was a tune up before states.

7. Central Regional (9) 13-5-1 - First year coach, Marykate Sullivan, showed the Shore there is more good soccer in Ocean County other than Toms River.  They were able to defeat TRN twice this season including an overtime win in SJG4. It will be fun to see if they will become a fixture in the Top 10 in the future.

8. Wall (NR) 13-8-0 - Probably the least consistent team in the Top 10, but they were able to figure it out when it meant the most and made it to the Group 2 finals. That is a big achievement for a team that lost 5 in a row and 6 out 7 games midseason. They were able to get revenge on Rumson in the CJG2 finals after losing to them two years ago in the finals.

9. Pt Boro (3) 15-4-0 - Pt Boro had an amazing regular season and did not give a goal inside their division. Even though they played a weaker regular season schedule, they proved they were the real deal by holding off TRN in the SCT and then upsetting the #2 seed RBC to make it to the SCT. Another team that will be returning a good part of their team next season.

10. Toms River South (6) - TRS shocked everyone but themselves when they defeated Brick Memorial during the regular season and then proved it was no fluke in the SCT. TRS was a team that played hard defense and had great goalkeeping to show the Shore Conference there is more then one team in Toms River.
